“An Author’s Love Affair with Writing”-Cherry Ann Carew

As a passionate author, writer, and reader, one could call Cherry-Ann Carew’s relationship with writing a long lasting love affair, not to mention an intense passion between herself and reading. It’s been one passionate rollercoaster after the next and she hasn’t stopped yet to take a breather.

Cherry is a thinker when it comes to putting her work together. With a long process in putting a book together, by the time she’s finished, her characters have come together in their own way. Cherry does give herself a certain amount of time to write and doesn’t move until that time is up. Cherry says she can knock out 2,000 to 10,000 words in one setting if she’s not pressed for time.

“I write both fiction and non-fiction. In the fiction realm, I’m more drawn to contemporary/mainstream women’s fiction, because I want my writing to touch the reader.  Within this genre, I am able to choose subjects women can relate to in their real lives, i.e., topical issues that tap into the hopes, fears, dreams and perhaps, even secret fantasies.

My non-fiction writing to date falls within the remit of body and mind. I find it empowering to share my experiences and my hope is that it will not only motivate and inspire others, but give solutions that will result in some form of change, benefit or positive effect.”

As a teenager, Cherry wrote a lot of romance novels. After reading one convincing scene from a female character in a novel that was written by a bestselling author, it inspired her to become a published author herself. “I was sold. What could be better than earning passive income? Of course, I was thinking of the many books I would write and live off the royalties. Writing books was the business I was going to get involved in when I grew up. I was going to write, write, and write, and live off the profits. I was going to be a bestselling author.” So far, Cherry has been living up to her dream.
