Open Forum Day!

Today we are not going to have a Hot Topic. Instead I’m allowing all my literary friends to ask me anything about the literary field. I am opening the blog to an open forum just for today.

If you have questions concerning your writing, publishing, editing etc. Ask me and I will do my best to answer.  Depending on how this goes, we  might have Open Forum Day once a month!

So ask away!!!!

  1. I would like to know how hard is it to start your own online magazine and what are some of the trials and errors you learned and what would you recommended to your readers about publishing eBooks/editing

    Deanetta.

  2. Hi Deanetta and thank you for your question. It is very hard to run any business especially if it’s you alone. I started From A Writer’s POV four years ago and did it all by myself. It’s tough. People don’t always do what they say they are going to do but expect a lot out of you. Your are going to have to dig into your own money in the beginning to get things off the ground. It’s a tough position but if it’s your passion, drive and desire, you will make it work.

I would recommend doing your research before you get into anything; know what your getting yourself into, what it all requires and what sacrifices you will have to make to get the job done. It’s a little difficult to compare the two; (ebooks and online magazine) simple because you will produce more than one book. The magazine is one on its own and you are not going to put out a magazine every year. Mostly like your magazine, like mines is monthly, you have a certain audience to please and your putting out a product that is not about self (all books come from self if you know what I mean) So I say do your research in anything you get started in. Don’t give up so quickly and fight for where you are trying to go and the place you are trying to mark as your own in this literary world.

    Hope that helps!
