PFL Publishing

Under the umbrella of Power, Faith, and Love Ministries, PFL Publishing, CA is a business that specializes in educating and supporting Christian writers through book editing, transcriptions, ghostwriting, and other educational services; PFL Publishing purposes to provide a more-excellent approach to editing. “Coming from an educational background as an English instructor, I have worked extensively with young writers, and have found that many of today’s contemporary authors have the same learning style and writing technique as my former scholars. As such, it is my desire to help those entering the business of writing by not only providing editing work, but servicing each client with different writing strategies, methods, and techniques that are necessary for a perfect book.” says, Felecia Killings. In addition, PFL Publishing seeks to provide educational programs and workshops that assist authors through the writing and marketing stages of the business. “One of the objectives of this business is to get writers so acclimated with writing correctly that soliciting “doctoral editing’ services minimizes.”

Business Owner of the Month; “Virtual Author’s Assistant at its Best”

Joy Farrington, Virtual Author’s Assistant, has been working with authors since 2004. She decided to become a virtual assistant because it involves the thing she loves most…books. In 2005, she officially started a business called Nubian Literary Network. NLN was created as a tool for authors to connect with book clubs. From NLN, her business model evolved to what it is today. “My company is called Lit Diva, Inc. and I offer literary services and virtual assistance to authors.”

VIP with Dominique; You should assess your product mid way through

In any business, even if you are an author or writer and your business is your books, there’s never a beginning and ending to your product. There’s always a mid way area that sometimes needs to be assessed.

When you are in business there’s a beginning of the product, figuring out what to do first and how your customers will be affected. In the end, you have the results. Plain and simple. But in the middle you have an area where you’ve already gotten your feet wet but aren’t ready to dry them just yet. This is your mid way area and sometimes it needs to be assessed.

What do I mean by assess? The dictionary tells us that assess means: to estimate or judge the value, character, etc of; evaluate. So that means when you’ve gotten your feet wet but aren’t ready to dry, it’s time to assess your product. How valuable is it? What will this product bring to my customers? Are there things I need to change? Assess your product.

There’s never just a beginning and ending. Check your product mid way through and assess it!

VIP with Dominique; Jump on the Bandwagon

In football, people who instantly become fans of a winning team are said to be “jumping on the bandwagon” They are not initially fans of that team but now that they are a winning team, they root for this team. They are jumping on the bandwagon. People say they should be fans of a team win or lose.

This also goes for Authors and Writers in the Literary Industry. When you come across a new social network, a new way of marketing, a new business that has potential, you should jump on the bandwagon.

We have no idea of predicting what the future holds for anyone or anything but you should get it while it’s hot.

This is a must.

A lot of people jumped on the twitter and facebook bandwagon years ago. I’m sure by now they are tired of it but they got in when they could and it has been a great benefit for them and their business/product.

Consider jumping on the bandwagon of some things in the literary industry that you know will benefit your business. Don’t wait for others. Make the investment now and watch it pay off later!
